Free voting and your identity

DailyVote records a poll, answer choice, voting identity and timestamp. Browser voting uses a Secure, HTTP-only session cookie; the server stores a digest of the credential. The app stores its voting credential in Keychain. One accepted ballot is counted per identity per poll. Clearing credentials, switching devices or creating another identity can weaken this protection; anonymous voting cannot guarantee one vote per human.

Your choices are private by default and are not included in your public creator profile. Aggregate results are delivered only after your identity has a recorded ballot. Share links, cards and social previews contain the question and choices without results. Administrators operate the database and can access underlying records; this is not a promise of complete anonymity.

Creators and submission credits

Creators sign in with Apple before buying or redeeming submission credits. The service verifies Apple identity on the server and keeps public creator attribution separate from voting credentials. Apple processes purchases. The service stores transaction IDs, a private account token, verified purchase/refund state, credit ledger entries and submission status. Payment-card details and Apple private keys are not sent to the app or website.

Submitted question and answer text may be sent to a configured AI provider for safety and quality review. Do not include personal, sensitive or confidential information. Moderation decisions retain reason codes, version and timestamps; uncertain or unavailable AI is held for administrator review. Enabled low-risk automation follows the published moderation policy. Reports, blocks and appeals are stored to operate community safeguards.

Progress and service activity

The service and app remember viewed polls, accepted votes and bookmarks to resume the feed and avoid unnecessary repetition. Limited view/share activity, accepted-vote counters and administrative audit records support operation and analytics. Counts represent recognized identities and recorded events, not verified unique people or delivered shares. No advertising analytics SDK is added.

Service providers and security

Cloudflare hosts the website and authoritative voting API; Turnstile helps protect web forms and Access secures administration. Short-lived hashed network identifiers support rate limiting. Apple provides sign-in and in-app purchases. A configured AI provider processes submitted poll text. These providers may process network/device information needed to deliver and secure their services.

Export and account deletion

The connected iOS app offers authenticated export and account deletion. Deletion revokes account access, removes private progress and hides owned creator content. Accepted ballots are retained under a deidentified identity so totals are not rewritten. Necessary deidentified purchase and ledger evidence is retained for transaction integrity and refunds. Intentionally deleting a creator account makes unused submission credits unrecoverable; finished consumable credits cannot be restored through StoreKit. Credits otherwise do not expire. The app explains this before deletion.

Legacy CloudKit data, local history and previously purchased history features remain separate established stores. Legacy public aggregate snapshots cannot retroactively become private. Their applicable device/iCloud controls and purchase restore behavior remain available.
